Beaver Fever
I had the whole early afternoon free. First, I called up Sara to see if she wanted to go to lunch. She had some errands to run, so I called up M. We went to Jose Tejas and then I went to the mall.
I walked around Banana Republic but didn't really see anything that I really liked. I did see some small cufflinks that were cute, but not enough to buy.
I went to Macy's because I knew they had a sale on suits. Yeah, these are like name brand suits or whatever, but none of them really suited my style. They were too formal and too proper. A little too conservative for my tastes.
Most of the other stores at Willowbrook mall are pretty mediocre. I'm not big on department stores, but since I had time to kill, I decided to go to Bloomingdales.
I was surprised, they actually had fun hip clothes. Granted, the sections were fairly small, but it was enough. Again, most of the shirts that I saw that I liked weren't in my size. I managed to pick up a gray shirt with a black silhouette of Nixon in velvet on it and a shirt that said "Brooklyn Pirates". That's me! I'm a pirate. A digital pirate.
My last stop was Lord & Taylor. Their t-shirt selection was even smaller. I did manage to find a brown shirt that said "Beaver Fever" with the graphic of a beaver on it. Again, this was in velvet so I had to have it.
So far, I'm really happy with the shirts I found. They're fun without being vulger and they have a pit of vintage or kitsch feel to them.
