Sick?
So I've been kind of sick, but not really, for the past few days. Let me clarify. On Friday, I had the worst sneezing bout ever. All day, every 3 seconds, I would sneeze or blow my nose. It got to the point where people stopped saying, "God bless you" or "gesundheit". At first, I attributed the sneezing fit to allergies since my eyes were watery and a bit puffy and there was really nothing else physically wrong with me.
The next day, when I woke up to get ready for rock scrambling, I felt a bit of scratchiness or tightness in my throat. It's kind of that feeling of slight difficulty in swallowing but not a constant pain nor a sharp enough pain to make it difficult to eat or drink anything. The sneezing was over, so I figured it had been allergies the previous day.
You wouldn't think it, but you get awfully hot rock scrambling; I was actually working up a pretty good sweat. Not to the point where my sweat was defeating my eyebrows but enough that I had to wipe it to keep from stinging my eyes.
Now, combine the sweat with the cool wind from a lake and you get a pretty chill body pretty fast. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with my getting a cold, but I know that my mom always tells me I'm going to catch cold like that.
Come Sunday, I was feeling pretty gross. I had a bit of a runny nose, but nothing major. The main thing was how tired I was. I don't know if it was from rock scrambling the previous day or something else. But there was really nothing I could do about it. I went to sleep early to try and get some rest.
Yesterday morning I woke up with a huge lump in my throat. I hacked it up and it was kind of dark yellow, a bit sallow. Again, it wasn't like my throat really hurt, but it hurt enough that it was difficult to swallow. I popped some Tylenol Cold and made my way to work. The whole day, I had this weird feeling in my head. It wasn't a headache, but more like my head was swimming or something. I drank plenty of hot water, but I felt pretty miserable all day. In addition to the head stuff, my body ached too. I wasn't sure if this was remnants from rock scrambling or a result from the cold. When I got home, I didn't want to do anything and just watched random things I Tivo'd.
Today, I feel a little better, but that feeling in my head is still there. My joints still ache a little bit. My throat is okay though. I'd like to attribute what's been going on these past few days as a cold of some sort, but I'm not sure what it is.
