dreams of pimped out pc
This morning, Dave and I saw a post on gotapex.com about an amazing desktop deal. Dave was having trouble (as in, he couldn't) running City of Heroes. Discouraged that his computer was too slow, he was looking for a new PC. The deal was great. First, a $200 USD rebate, free upgrade from 512 MB to 1024 MB RAM, free shipping, and 50% off. This is an insanely good deal. It was so good, practically everyone on the floor was abuzz trying to configure and place an order.
As we were putting in the order, quircky errors started popping up. First, there would be two machines in the cart when there only should have been one. Later, instead of having the correct machine, it had a laptop instead. Whenever you tried to delete something from the cart, nothing would happen. When you tried to set a quantity to zero, it would give SQL errors or some sort of script error.
Calls to the AI Computers were not answered, and I still have not received a reply to my emails.
Needless to say, the company doens't look legit and there appears to be issues with it in Maximum PC.
Oh well, I had my heart set on a brand new PC.
