14$ Peking Duck?
A cold miserable Saturday. I could've just as easily stayed home and played Final Fantasy X, which I haven't touched in like two weeks, but I decided to go out to China Town instead.
Dan needed to get his hair cut, so Jimmy and I kind of tagged along. But first, Dan needed to wait for the cable guy to come so we didn't get in to the city until 3:30.
While Dan was getting his new do, Jimmy and I walked around. I showed him the various sites and to dos of Chinatown, most of which were pretty weak. I haven't been to C-town in like two years; a lot has changed since then.
Dan finally finished his hair cut and neither of us thought it was worth the 22$. But if he likes it, who am I to tell him otherwise?
We finally went to eat. After like three hours, we were finally going to have dinner, even though it was around dinner time. As we were walking to the salon, we passed a place that had a sign for peking duck, only 14$. We knew that it was too good to be true, but we would give it a shot anyway.
Of course, it was too good to be true. The deal was only for weekdays. We ordered other stuff and all of it was really good. It was just odd because we were stuck in the corner. The place looked like it was set up for banquets, not little groups of three. The table sizes were more suited to parties of eight.
We started heading back and I finally came across one of the little carts with the little cakes. I had been smelling their wonderful aroma while we walked through Chinatown, but couldn't find the cart. These things used to sell for 20 for 1$. The prices shot up to 15 for 1$. Oh well, they are still worth it.
