short hills
After lunch, we went to Trader Joe's to look around a bit. Ben and I were a little put off by the oddness of the products being sold. A lot of organic things and all natural things that we just weren't used to. We tried this one mango lemonade they had out. We just sort of stood there deciding whether we liked it or not. We finally came to the conclusion that it was interesting. Not good, not bad. Just. Interesting.
We both had the rest of the day free and didn't want to just waste it sitting at home. Not knowing what else to do, we decided to go shopping. So we went to Short Hills.
I stopped by Borders to pick up a copy of Esquire magazine and a Zagat's Jersey Dining Guide.
Ben wanted to try on some Diesel jeans, so we went. Too bad the cute girl wasn't there. He liked the pants that he tried on, but I still couldn't justify paying that kind of money for jeans unless I absolutely loved them.
We walked around the rest of the mall, hit up different shops here and there. Most of them were just way out of our budget. We eventually went to the old standby: Banana Republic.
It's a good thing we decided to go shopping when we did because Banana Republic was having some sort of crazy sale. Almost everything was on sale. While I was there, I met the same salesperson that helped Peter and I last week. I introduced myself and promptly forgot her name.
I looked around and found a suede coat for $160 USD, marked down from $250 USD. I tried on a medium and was surprised that it felt so big. I tried on the small and was more satisfied with the fit. All weekend, as I wore the coat, I felt very self-conscience in it, as if I was busting out of it. As I wore it more, I started growing into it.
With our shopping mostly done, we decided to head out. As we were leaving the mall, I remembered that I should pick up some spray for the coat. I asked some of the salespeople at Nieman Marcus and they told me to get a suede spray. So it was off to Walmart.
