All the Mall You Can Haul
after dim sum, we went to palisades plaza. along the way, nnc and i talked about bioterrorism, genetic diseases, viral diseases, and numonic diseases. she gave me great consulting about diseases and reproduction. if it wasn't for nancy, i probably wouldn't have anything to write about. as it was, i thought that my ideas were medically impossible. but now, i know otherwise.
i also learned that my monkey bite, the little mark on my left arm, IS actually a bad thing. it turns out that in taiwan, tuberculosis was such a big problem, that they had to give ppl shots of dormant tb so they wouldn't get the worse one. but, if we come into contact w/ someone who has active tb, our chances of dying are 15 times, fifteen!
by the time we got to the mall, nnc and i were both equally freaked out.
this was both m, nnc, and nancy's first time at palisades. while we were looking for a parking spot in the underground, q saw a spot and started backing up to turn to get it. he didn't realize that there was another car behind him, and he hit her slightly stronger than a love tap. fortunately, there was no damage. at least, it didn't look like there was any.
the first place that we stopped at was pottery barn. m picked up a nice frame for pretty cheap. q and nancy tried different styles of dancing, but q was pretty inept at all of them.
afterwards, we went next door to brookstone. i was in search for a travel pillow but it was too expensive. i asked the guy that worked there about it, and he suggested that it wasn't a neck pillow i was looking for, but rather, lumbar support. which i also need as well. this stuph does come w/ a 90 day trial period, but it's just such a large initial cost, that i don't know if it's worth it. he claims that they don't get any returns, but i wonder if this is more out of, not necessarily fear, but embarressment or actually liking the product. hopefully, i can find something from consumer reports or soemthing that talks about the material. granted, it is very nice. now that i'm looking at the site, i think i should get this.
we then hit up h&m. at first, i was a little put off because the woman's section was huge. i commented, "where's the men's section, with the children's?" my joke turned out to be reality, as the men's section was in the back corner after the children's section. i saw a few man bracelets that were alright, but the majority of them were just too thin. i found that my wrists are actually rather small, and most of the man bracelets were almost too big for them. q and i also took the opportunity to do a little club dancing around nancy. q also found a pair of see through underwear. it was kind of funny.
we made our way upstairs to the express and express men. br no longer had the red stretch button down that i was itching to buy, so i went to express men to pick one of their's up. afterwards, we went up to the next level. just as we got there, m realized that she dropped one of her sowing needles. we figured that she had dropped it somewhere at express, so we went back down to look for it. just as we asked one of the store clerks if he saw it and he offered to help us look, we found it. thanks to that guy, where ever he is. we need more guys like him.
afterwards, we went to d&b's to play some games. m loves shooting games, so we played some house of the dead 2. i tried showing her the covering of the sensor to reload technique, but she couldn't do it well. still, it was tons of fun. afterwards, we played some pump, but m wasn't too coordinated at that. then we watched q and nancy play this other weird shooting game, during which, m and i ate a peanut caramel apple we had picked up earlier.
q needed to go to game's workshop. while he was there, m, nnc, and i went to target. m and i picked up the dr. scholl's gel from target. they were on sale. now, in retrospect, i should've picked up two pairs. at the time, i thought i would be cheap and just get one pair and switch them between my different shoes. it figures, right after i buy myself a pair, theres a coupon for it online.
by now, we had been at the mall for a good 3 hours. it was time to head back.
