"'Yahoo! News is running an AFP story on Australia's efforts to control the carp population using a 'male-only' gene. The gene will prevent the carp, considered a pest in Australia, from producing female offspring. The carp has wiped out some 90% of the native south Australian fish population, namely perch and bass. They do not, however, mention any ways of controlling the spread of this gene in the wild, besides the obvious death of any affected population.'"
wouldn't the feminists like to get their hands on a gene similar to this. people like valerie solanas have dreamed of a gene like this.

"'The New York Post has an inflammatory article which argues that Take Two's Grand Theft Auto is worse than child molestation and more harmful than second hand smoke. The story, which appears in the business section, calls for an outright ban of video games it claims are no better than snuff films, and concludes: 'Stay away from this [Take Two] stock - far, far away - and you'll be doing both your wallet and your fellow man a favor'.' Lucky the author hasn't checked out Manhunt yet, huh?"
i like how people blame video games for the fall of society. when they should really stop trying to being fascist and pushing their agendas upon other people. they need to wake up and realize that they aren't helping anything.

"'Intel and Microsoft are gearing up to move toward the first major overhaul of the innermost workings of the personal computer. The companies will begin promoting a technology specification called EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface) as a new system for starting up a PC's hardware before its operating system begins loading.'"
the bios has been around for as long as i can remember. in the light of all the different other hardware advances, its a wonder that they didn't try to update this as well. i guess there was the issue of compatability. hopefully, the changes will be incremental and still work w/ old/existing hardware.
