Club: Spirit: Review

I spent about 40 minutes before YG looking for an anti-theft device. After what happened last time, I wasn't going to take any chances. I eventually decided on the brake lock. I know I shouldn't use infomercials as my source of information, but when they showed how easy it was to defeat the Club, I was pretty convinced. Even before the infomercials, I always questioned the effectiveness of the Club. Questions like, "Can't they just remove the steering wheel?" et al. The brake lock looked like the best choice for my money.

We got to Spirit around 11:30, hoping to get a fairly decint parking spot and not have to wait in line too long. We drove around a bit and eventually a spot opened up. The line was pretty good. While we were on line, we saw Kenny and waved hi.

DJ Remy was spinning some house stuff. I'm not big into house, I don't think it's complex enough for my tastes. If it were only that, it would have been fine. But the thing was, Remy didn't do a good job of mixing. There was one huge train wreck that pretty much ruined the whole opening.

I was bored out of my mind. Finally, at 2:00 AM, Armin came on. Something must've happened because all these people kept on coming up to Remy to talk to him. At one point, Remy actually left the DJ booth, only to come back a few minutes later.

Armin was great. There was just so much energy and his mixing was so effortless. His track selection had a bit to be desired, but you can't say anything about his mixing skills.

We finally left a little after 4:00 AM. It was early, but the others were tired.

It was a good night.
