winter retreat: first message

Janas's message was very good. He spoke on 1 Corinthians 13 and gave a lot of background information about Corinth. It really set the stage for everything that he would be talking about afterwards.

Some interesting things that he mentioned was that Corinth was a major metropolitan city, much like New York City. It was a large trade center because of its ports. It also had a lot of culture because of the diversity of people who came to the city.

It was a very good message.
