winter retreat: first morning
We all woke up really early, earlier than the schedule said we should have woken up. After they went through their morning routine, they went outside to play some wall ball. I stayed inside to work on my talk for Soul Purpose the next day.
In the morning, we did some calisthenics: some stretching, and a little bit of running. It was a great idea, something that we should do at more retreats. Not only does it give a physical emphasis to the retreat, it also gets the blood flowing so that you're more awake in the morning.
Breakfast was good. Pancakes and sausage patties.
We were supposed to do the high ropes course, but due to the weather, we weren't able to. The other plan was to do a prayer labyrinth, but that wasn't set up either. We ended up just going to the gym instead. Some of the guys played basketball, while most of us played some volley ball.
12:00 PM EST rolled around, and we had to get back for lunch. Tri-State Camp has this weird thing where, if you come to a meal more than 30 minutes late, you get charged $25 USD a person. It's not a really big issue with our group, because we all love to eat. I just thought it was very interesting.
