why asians suck

I was talking to nnc last night and the topic of hepatitis B came up. My dad had hepatitis, although I'm not sure which version he had. Even though he was cured of the disease, it left him with a weakened liver that eventually led to liver cancer and his death. My cousin Small has hepatitis as well. With a family history of liver problems, I've always been cautious about the amount of alcohol I drink. I'm not worried about hepatitis because I've had my vaccination. I am worried about other liver failure possibilities.

Ever since, high school, I've always stayed up late at night. Regardless if it was a school night or not, I'd almost always be up until at least 2 AM. It was always especially bad during the summer times; when staying up until 6 or 7 AM was normal. Between the hours of 10 PM and 2 AM is when your liver begins to harden. For the past 9 years, my liver has hardened considerably.

We talked about livers for a bit and I realized that Asians as an ethnic group, have the worst genetics out of any other ethnic group. We lack the enzymes to break down alcohol. We are also more susceptible to hepatitis and liver failure in general.

The talk about hepatitis led to discussion about other diseases such as AIDS. In China, 25% of the population is infected with AIDS. This number is probably higher because of all the unreported cases. Granted, the numbers aren't as high as Africa's, but considering that China has a larger population, that number is staggering.

Not only do we have extremely poor genetics and extremely high rates of infection, we lack any important cultural contributions. Granted, there is the language, but in relation to more Western languages, Chinese and its related languages seem archaic. Word anatomy and composition is extremely difficult to understand.

We're probably best known for kung fu and different forms of martial arts. Even this is a small consolation in view of guns and other ballistic weapons. No matter what the movies show you, if you're facing a gun, no matter how fast your bunch or you kick is, the bullet is a lot faster.

It could be just a pervasive diluting of Chinese culture here in the states or it could just be ignorance on our part. Regardless, Chinese culture just doesn't seem appealing when compared to Japanese culture.
