perspectives: evening
6:00 PM EST rolled around, and we set out the 10 lbs of meat that we bought. It was good seeing the kids running around and having a good time. But Soul Purpose should have known better. They need their voices to perform. They shouldn't have been screaming the way they were.
6:30 PM EST came, Tony and I realized that we still had more programs that we had to staple. We ran up to Pastor Tim's office, but found that it had all been done already. Thank God.
We took that time to play with the spotlights for Undiginified.
The evening show was better, and worse in many ways. I think the kids comitted more to their roles but flubbed more lines.
As Perspectives came to a close, I couldn't help but feel a bit of disappointment. Technically, they all performed fine. The show itself was excellent. But the process that it took these kids to get here just didn't justify it. I know there is the aspect of God's grace and his blessing, but I feel that this isn't the right lesson these kids should be learning. They shouldn't be learning that they can slack off and everything will come together, rather, they should be learning that no matter what the final results are, they can take comfort in knowing that they did their best for God.
But it's over. And Perspectives was a "sucess".
Finally, Tony and I could rest.
