02.17.04 - sponsor meeting

PTim has a LAWN set up in his apartment. Andy was already on the network. PTim had some extra WNIC lying around so I attempted to jack in.

First, I tried using the USB WNIC, but for some reason, the drivers refused to install. It would reach 100% and the install shield would just kind of hang there a bit. I tried installing it again, but it just refused to work.

I decided to try the PCMCIA WNIC that PTim had. This one was a little more successful. It asked for the drivers and installed without a hitch. The issue came when I tried getting on the network. It would detect the network, and I would log on to it, but then after a few minutes it would just kick me off the LAWN.

Not really sure what was wrong, I decided to try using the USB WNIC again. This time, the drivers installed without a problem. Again, I was on the LAWN for a few minutes, and then it would just kick me off.

After being disconnected maybe 20 times, I just gave up.
