president s day shopping

President's Day, a great day for shopping. Ben, M and I went to Short Hills to spend some of our hard earned cash around 1 PM EST.

Our first stop was Banana Republic. I was looking for a 3/4 coat, but they had already moved into their spring/summer line. They put their classic zip jacket up, so I can pick that up sometime. M's gunna go stop by the one in the city and see if she can pick up a 3/4 coat for me. Ben and I went back to the sales rack. He found an orange merino sweater for $10 USD. I found a charcoal one for $20 USD. The other stuff on the racks wasn't that great, neither of us were a fan of horizontal stripes. We went to check out. Ben remembered that he had dropped off a suede bag about a year ago to get it fixed. They hadn't contacted him in awhile, so he forgot about it. They looked all over the place for the paperwork, but couldn't find it. So unless Ben can find his paperwork, the bag is lost forever.

We hit up crate and barrel because one of the martini glasses that Sara got me had a chip in it. I got it exchanged with not hassles.

We went to Nordstrom'ss to look for shoes. I saw a pair of Diesel shoes that I loved. It was sort of dress casual with a sneaker bottom. It was funky enough that I could wear it when ever, but still black enough that I could wear it semi-formally too. I also saw a pair of Puma's that were great. I fell in love with them the moment I tried them on. There was a pair of white ones with black accents that were to die for. But M wouldn't let me get them. They were out of the brown and tan ones so the clerk said that he would have another store ship them to me.

At Nordstrom's, there was an Asian clerk with a really nice rack. When she walked around they had a nice jiggle to them. I pointed them out to both Ben and M. I guessed they were 34 C's.

Ben also picked up two pairs of really nice dress shoes. He wanted to get some belts too, but all the belts at Nordstrom's were too old man stuffy.

Macy's had better belts. I showed him the Kenneth Cole one that I picked up. The belts were on sale too, 25% off. I picked up a Geoffrey Bean one. It was mostly shiny, except for this one part where it was matte. The belt is also reversible with the black side having a nice leather texture to it.

We were done shopping so we decided to head out. On the way out of the mall, I wanted to stop by GameStop and pick up a few games. I picked up Metal Gear Solid 2 for $8 USD used, Madden 2002 for $4 USD used and Extreme-G 3 for $15 USD used. The store clerk convinced me to sign up for the discount card. You get 10% off all purchases of used games for the next 10 months. I would also get 20% off this initial purchase. Since I was going to save about $6 USD, I figured it would be alright. I'm planning to buy a lot more used games anyway.

By the time we left the mall, it was around 5 PM EST.
