M`s Hot Pot
I went over to M's last night for some hot pot action. For you non-asians, hot pot is the equivalent of a turkey dinner. You don't get it that often and it's mad good.
Usually, you have stuff like beef sirloin cuts, lamb cuts, beef balls, shrimp balls, squid balls, shrimp, chicken, wontons, dumplings, various vegetables, noodles, et al that you drop in to the soup. Since the pot is boiling and the cuts of meat are really thin, everything cooks pretty much instantaneously. Sometimes you get something that takes a little bit longer, so you just leave it.
M's hot pot was weak. Lackluster even. The pot didn't really get hot, and when it did, it would stop boiling the moment you dropped anything into it. The selection wasn't even mediocre. When stuff was done cooking, they'd take it out of the water and put it in a bowl. This defeats the whole purpose of hot pot because the food gets cold.
Luckily, I have more hot pot action tonight at PTim's. It's going to be great.
