decorating
I left Youth Group early to start setting up decorations. I wanted to put these tissue paper flowers in the cups so I went online to find origami orchids. They turned out to be too hard, so I just took one aspect of it and used that to make orange and white lotuses instead.
Later, Todd and Becky came over to help with the decorations. Todd was responsible for decorating the walls. I gave him the orange tissue paper and told him my idea. Originally, I wanted to have torn patches of orange with smaller patches of blue. Being the lazy boy he is, he wanted to put them on without tearing them. I suggested that he do it in a grid, because I know that M loves the grid.
While Todd was working on the walls, I continues to do my folding. Becky came over later and helped finish it up. To make the flowers, I hot glued them to a stem made of green construction paper. Each flower had 8 petals.
Becky was also kind enough to bring over some dinner plates for us to use.
Becky was there until 2:00 AM EST working on the petals. Todd and I were up till 3:00 AM EST with everything else. When we were done, we lit all the candles to do a test run. Everything looked amazing.
