They were pretty much done with the room for the day, so I suggested we all go to dinner. M wanted to shower and she said that she could finish in 5 minutes. Of course, I put money on it. 5 bucks said that she couldn't finish in 5 minutes. She was out in 6. Score!
I called up Joe to see if he wanted to come. Being so indecisive, it took us awhile to find a place to eat. Eventually, I suggested Bogey's, this small mom and pop shop on the corner of Rt 10 and Jefferson. I pass it almost everyday but never ate there before. So we decided to go.
The place is really small and cozy. They don't give you menus because its right there under the glass. All the people there were really friendly and it felt homely and welcoming. The prices were decint, averaging maybe $9 USD a plate for a sandwich and $13 USD for pasta. Pretty much the prices you'd expect from a mom and pop. The food was excellent. I ordered a burger with everything and pretty much scarfed it down.
Joe got an italian sausage sandwich. The thing came with 3 links practically open faced. Joe made every attempt to make it into a sandwich, first wrapping some bread around part of a link, and later, cutting up the links and using the remainder of the bread to make a sandwich.
M got the burger too but was having a bit of trouble finishing it. She got down to a little bit, and I said that the piece was just 1 bite. She was like, "No, way!" So of course, I took the piece, put it in my mouth, and then put it back on her plate, proving once and for all, it was one bite.
Nnc ordered a chicken parm sandwich and couldn't finish it, so she enlisted Joe and I to finish it off. She cut the remaining piece in half and challenged us to fit the whole thing in our mouths. Not ones to back down from a challenge we took the remainder of the sandwich in our hands. At first, we were a little put off because it was a lot thicker than it looked on the plate. Undaunted, we went for it. We shoved the whole piece in our mouths, filling up the entire cavity inside. We realized that we didn't have room to chew and the chicken was still pretty hot.
If we had thought the challenge through, we would have chewed as we were shoving the sandwich in our mouths. Lessons learned for next time.
We had a good time and good food.
