m s new room

After work, I decided to drop by M's for a surprise visit. She and Nnc have been working on cleaning / painting / redesigning the room all weekend. They finished painting a day or 2 ago and built some furniture.

M got this grid shelf that pretty much took up the entire wall. I didn't particularly like the shelf. The shelving was too deep, making it kind of impractical in terms of the space it occupied. The thing was also made of particle wood, just like most Ikea furniture with this cheap cheap venear. I don't know if it was just the lighting or what, but it didn't fit well in the space. It just ate up too much of it, making it look a lot smaller than it should.

The color that M chose for her room was very reminscent of 60's or 70's smoky lounge. I half expected a tall lanky man with a fro and a really bushy mustache to come in, decked out in all polyester to sing us a song. Supposedly, during the day, the color looks really vibrant.
