woodbury
I needed to go shopping for a nice classic 3/4 winter coat. M had stopped by the Banana Republic in the city and they said they shipped all their winter wear to Woodbury Commons.
I've driven to Woodbury a good number of times, and never missed the exit. I don't know what happened this time, but I missed the exit. I was so annoyed, frustrated and pissed off. I was tempted by the no U-Turn signs to make an illegal u-turn in the middle of the high way. The next exit was pretty far away. We ended up going 40 minutes out of our way.
We finally made it to Woodbury and we hit up the Banana Republic Outlet. They didn't have any winter coats, but they did have some of the older stretch polin shirts. I picked up the red one that I wanted so desperately and a soft green one.
We hit up Armani Exchange and saw 2 coats for really cheap. One was $70 USD and the other was $100 USD. The $70 one wasn't exactly a winter coat. The $100 one wasn't the right cut. The lapels came down too low and felt like it wouldn't be warm enough.
We stopped by Claiborne because last time we were here, I saw a coat that I really liked. But they didn't have any more.
Kenneth Cole had a coat that was really cheap and I really liked too. But just like everytime I go to Kenneth Cole, they never have anything in my size. I also saw a pair of classic dress shoes that I liked, again, none in my size.
We spent the rest of the afternoon at United Colors of Benneton. M was looking at her female suits. There were some mens wear, but most of it was pretty expensive. I saw a tuxedo blazer that I liked, but it I couldn't justify spending $50 USD on something that I would most likely be only wearing casually. They also didn't have any in my size. M was lucky and found a suit for $47 USD.
All in all, I felt like my trip to Woodbury was a waste. Not only did We go 40 minutes out of our way, I didn't really get anything I wanted. Granted, I got my 2 shirts, but those are small consolations. I just decided to wait till next year to get my winter coat.
