ushering

today was my first time ushering. it wasn't all that bad. it just forces me to wake up an hour earlier than i normally would to dress well and what not.

while i was getting ready this morning, i realised that why i kept on messing up my ties when i tried to tie them. i was always scared that when i pulled on the main part of the tie that it would screw up the knot, so i've been trying to hold the knot together while i tightened it. but there is a way to pull it tight and still keep it manageable.

i'm glad that i signed up for ushering. even though it's a small thing, it's a good way that i can serve and is very under appreciated. especially with the way that they clean up after service. it just so happens, and i'm sure this is a coincidence, that it was communion sunday, so we had to clean up all the communion cups as well. the kids' side is so messy, it's almost disgusting. they also need to stop putting the bulletins behind the hymnals and put them in front of them. it'll make it easier for us to clean up.
