Summer Update

its been a long time since i've updated my blogs. needless to say, not much has been going on in my life. at least, not much that's of any excitement. probably the most interesting thing that happened to me was this thing about my summer job. it turned out there was no real job there anyway. i didn't find out about this till after i had taken the training course. for the most part, i could say i was upset. but looking back, i really thank god for closing my doors. i was in one of those hard positions where i wanted to serve him and his people, but i also wanted to get a job. by closing the door, it gave me the opportunity to serve him.

in the end, i feel a lot better about the decision. i'm serving with the youth group and soar as well. many praises to him, because he helped me to get a job a few weeks afterwards. i didn't even have to look for it. its not a job that i can enjoy, but it's better than nothing.

watched the carolina @ detroit game today. one of the most tense and nerve racking games i've seen in awhile. in the first period, there were 2 short handed goals, so the game was tied. and then finally, towards the end of the 3rd period, the wings scored 2 quick goals to bring it to 1 to 3. so after my boys tied the series, i been in a pretty good mood.

aside from all that, i've been given a chance to get to know quentin, todd, tim, and dave a lot better. we've been spending much time together in paintball and bionicles. and even if we're not doing anything, it's just a good time had by all. we're still trying to figure out what to call our paintball team. but beyond that, we're really gelling as a group. we have good times together, and we really trust each other.

picnic coming up on saturday. and i'm not really ready for it. i'm the one that's supposed to be organizing it, but i'm really illprepared. i still don't even know how many people are actually going to be there. i can just pray and wait and see what God does with it.

i finally got my network running. for a few days i couldn't get my computer running, and i finally realized it was because i didn't turn on the dhcp client in win xp. i'm so dumb. but once that was fixed, i hooked everything up to the router and broadband is shared for all. i can't wait to have lan parties, then everyone will be able to go online.

the downside of all this cable goodness is that i'm watching more tv then i normally would. no, let me rephrase that, i have more reason to watch tv then i normally do. not that there's any better channels on, but because i can. i've been trying to urge myself to start reading again, but its really hard to read during the day.
