Addicted to Mediocrity, Chapter 4: "It Was Good" (and Still Is)

In chapter four, Schaeffer talks about creation and how it was "good". But what does God mean be "good"?

We will relegate ourselves to the adjectives because that is how it is used in the text. There are some 18 odd definitions for the word. It will be easier to strike the ones that don't apply.
  • 9. Competent; skilled: a good machinist. - This can't apply because the Earth cannot be competent or skilled. It is inanimate.

      1. Able to pay or contribute: Is she good for the money that you lent her?
      2. Able to elicit a specified reaction: He is always good for a laugh.
    These attributes cannot be fulffilled by any of creation.

That leaves a lot of definitions that are applicable to creation. The issue is compounded because we don't know which instance of the word is used for which day of creation. It's a much deeper question than Schaeffer lets and makes his point vapid.
