lunch with ptim
Just got back from lunch with PTim. We tried going to Fudruckers again, but the line was so long, we just decided to go somewhere else instead. The next plan was to hit up Taco Bell, but as I was about to make the U-Turn, PTim suggested that we hit up the North American Seafood.
While I was parking, we thought we saw Andy's car. We thought that Andy was at Hunan so we went to the window to see if we could see him inside. We couldn't see him, so I gave him a ring. He ended up being at Keo Ku's.
So PTim and I go to the North American Seafood. We're standing there, looking at the menu; after a few minutes, PTim turns to me and says, "Can you speak Chinese?" I say I can and he says to me in Chinese, "They dont' have a large selection". I look at the board and agree. We make our way over to the frozen stuff and nonchalantly make our way out of the store/restaurant. We decide we should just go to Hunan.
I ordered the pork double sauteed with wonton soup. I wasn't expecting it to be as salty or as spicy as it was. Not that the dish was very spicy, I just wasn't expecting it to be at all. I actually had to take PTim's extra rice because it was so salty. It was very good though.
We talked about a lot of different things. We talked briefly about my relationship with M. We talked about public displays of affection and how I wasn't really keen on that. Mainly because of my first relationship, it pretty much ruined it for me. So now, I don't do much holding of hands or hugging.
We talked about the arts ministry, specifically drama and how the kids aren't disciplined or focused. I shared with PTim that we would probably have mandatory auditions next year and limit the number to 7 or 8 people. This way, it would discourage people from coming to Soul Purpose for the purpose of hanging out. Granted, we would probably have less people, but just like Gideon, it's about God's strength not ours.
We talked briefly about the church's IT and how we're hoping there will be some changes in the near future. My first goal is to get cccnj.org to redirect to nanwob's server. The next thing I want to do is get all the pastors on MS Office or at least the same version. Step 3 is to set up a laser printer on the network. And finally, replace their aging machines with something better.
It was a good lunch.
